5 things you don’t know about me

I guess it's my turn for the "5 things you don't know about me" meme.

  1. Since I was tagged by Carl, I'll start with this one:  I, too, am a British citizen (curious?  more details below.)
  2. I was one of those really annoying people who got an 800 on the Math SATs without really need to try all that hard (so if you're ever planning seat arrangements and know that Alice doesn't want to sit by Bob, Charlie likes Alice but doesn't like Dave or Edward, and Frank is left-handed... and they're all on a train that left Chicago at 8 AM heading East at 90 mph... I'm your man.  Don't ask me what it's good for beyond that.)
  3. I first learned to program in 5th grade on one of these babies:

There's nothing like making sure you wrap up your work 10 minutes before the end of class so you have time to save and verify on the tape drive.  (And yes, I know there are many of you out there who started back when you had to sit in the cave by the fire, using flint and rock to punch out chads...)
  4. I've held over a quarter-million dollars in cash, and over $150 million dollars as a check.
  5. Natalie Merchant once told me "I've gotta pee."

1.  Yes, I was born in England.  As to why I don't have an accent... I left when I was 10 weeks old.  (My parents where there for a year while my father was working on his dissertation.)
4.  No, I wasn't a drug dealer or in the mob.  I worked as a bank teller during my summers in college (the cash), and after college worked in the back-office operations division of a bank.  Any check $10M or over has to be cleared manually, since the standard encoding machines can only handle up to 9 digits.  Sadly, in neither case was the money mine.
5.  I worked on the stage crew during college, and for the 10,000 Maniacs concert was stationed by one of the doors to the hospitality suite.  And yes, those actually were her words.

Now who to tag that hasn't gone yet... I don't think I've seen anything from Chris Pepin or Chris Miller.
