Announcing Lotus Connections 3, now with advanced social analytics


IBM today announced a new version of the Lotus Connections enterprise social networking software, Lotus Connections 3 (Press release: IBM Launches New Software and Social Business Consulting Services).  IBM was first to market years ago with a social networking platform designed for businesses, and is continuing to enhance the solution to reflect the changing needs of organizations as they continue to adopt a more social form of collaboration.  

Lotus Connections provides tools such as communities, forums, wikis and blogs, and now includes new advanced social analytics, allowing workers to expand their network with recommendations of people to connect with based on prior connections and similar interests.

Also announced today are new IBM services to help companies understand how social software can be used within their organization and to identify a roadmap for embedding social business tools throughout their organization.  The services will draw from experts in IBM's Strategy and Transformation consulting practice and pull from a deep understanding of vertical industries and people management issues.
