Back on the blogging bandwagon (and personal updates)

Well, apparently I celebrated by 2 year blogiversary by taking a little bit of a blogcation (blogiatus? blogiday?).  Oops.

In my defense, things have been a bit busy here in Gartenberg land.  I was out of town for a week over the July 4th weekend to celebrate my sister Melissa's wedding to Dan Livney, which was a very fun and exciting event.  It was so great to be able to see all of my Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and family friends in one place (and for a happy occasion) - and unlike my own wedding, I was actually able to visit with them a bit!

My grandmothers - both of whom are in their 90's - were there, which also made it very special.  And we got to spend time with more of Dan's extended family, too.  (Our boys and Dan's step-nephews really hit it off, and it was fun to watch them zooming around the dance floor, even if I did have to issue a few Stay AWAY from the wedding cake!  warnings ("But Daaaaad - we just wanted to smell it!")

Also on the home front - and I can't remember if I've shared it here or not - we've been busy getting ready for the latest addition to the Gartenberg family.  Baby boy #3 (who will definitely have a name by the time he heads off to Kindergarten - really - although I'm still partial to one of our friend's suggestions: "G3") is expected mid-to-late September.  Needless to say, we've been busy moving around rooms, assembling furniture, and trying to get the house in some kind of order before the chaos that will be sure to ensue.

Both boys are excited about their little brother-to-be, although when you ask him, Noah's mostly looking forward to teaching him to fly a kite, and we haven't quite been able to convince him that it's probably not on the baby's week 1 agenda.  I'm sure he'll figure that out in due time, though, and in the mean time, I expect this baby to come out fully versed in the Thomas the Tank Engine family tree, and knowing all of the words to High School Musical and Camp Rock by heart.

But enough about me... I've got a backlog of work-related posts to write about.  Stay tuned!
