Two Sametime events Wednesday morning

Sometimes, when it rains it pours.  We've got two exciting events coming up this Wednesday, that as luck would have it both are scheduled for the same time.  (But hey, that's why we have two ears, right?)

For the more development-minded of you, check out the webcast at 11ET on Wed, 4/11 "Developing Plug-ins for IBM Lotus Sametime Connect," where Dave Schlesinger will be walking through the Sametime client architecture and programming model and how to build plugins that integrate with Sametime.

Webcast: Developing Plug-ins for IBM Lotus Sametime Connect -- overview
The IBM Lotus Sametime Connect 7.5 client is the first release of new instant messaging technology built on the Eclipse-based Lotus Expeditor client platform. The new client leverages the Eclipse plug-in framework to provide developers with extensibility features that go far beyond those available in previous Sametime releases. In this Software Delivery Platform webcast, which describes the Sametime Connect architecture and programming model, you'll learn how partners, ISVs, customers, and other external developers can build plug-ins to integrate with the Lotus Sametime Connect 7.5 client and extend its capabilities.

For the rest of you, come on over at 11 ET on Wed, 4/11 to the Lotusphere Comes to You Online site for a live discussion with members of the Sametime team, including yours truly.  We'll talk a bit about Sametime 7.5.1, Unified Communications and Collaboration, and of course answer any questions you might have (so make sure you bring some with you).

Real time...right now...join the Lotus Sametime team for an interactive discussion where we'll chat with you about:
  • Lotus Sametime 7.5.1--what's new? (Hint: it's more than IM and presence awareness.)
  • What if you use MS Outlook/Exchange? What if you need to tie into a public IM system?
  • You're a Lotus Notes user--what can a full Lotus Sametime implementation do for your organization?
  • IBM's take on unified communications and collaboration -- avoid "painting yourself into a corner"
  • and...anything else that's on your mind about the unified communications and collaboration space (VoIP, telephony, audio and video).

Update:  The developer webcast will be available for replay for the next 9 months, in case that influences your decision for which to attend Wed. at 11 ET.
