YO! Sushi Restaurants Use IBM Analytics to Reduce Costs While Improving Sales


I'm sharing this recent press release for two reasons:  One - I'm all for anything that improves the business of selling sushi, and two - I really like saying "YO! Sushi"

While it doesn't look like YO! Sushi has made it over here to the States yet, the restaurant chain is using IBM's business analytics software, including Cognos, to monitor and perform more granular analysis on business operations (including sales targets, revenue and customer promotions), as well as to improve customer service by aligning staffing with demand.

And, of course, the analytics are helping YO! Sushi identify "best-selling sushi dishes, [so] restaurant managers can place more accurate orders which avoids unnecessary food waste."

mmmm... sushi.
