Last week’s HCL Horizons 2025 launch for our Total Experience platform highlighted the benefits that organizations are seeing every day through the use of this technology. HCL Total Experience allows you to:
- Build experiences 85% faster with new tools on the platform you trust.
- Reduce costs by 60% and drive cost clarity.
- Accelerate app development by 50%.
- Increase agility for 10x faster time to market.
- Improve CSAT by 75% by delivering unified and connected experiences.
The event featured an interview with Industry analyst John Rymer from Analysis.tech, who coined the term low code development a decade ago. He highlighted two of the key benefits of a total experience software that includes low code development:
“First creating multiple experiences is a lot of effort in building software. Think of each one of those experiences requires some new software. So you want to be able to build them and test them very, very quickly and low code allows for that.
“Second, low code allows for the employees, the suppliers, even the customers or citizens, to give direct feedback, if not create their own experiences to satisfy their own needs. With low code you can do that. With coding you can’t.”
He then emphasized how Total Experience technology can help both citizen and pro developers create individualized experiences for business applications and processes:
“Instead of having to create a new application for each experience, the technology allows them to just focus on the user interface part of it, because underneath is a technology layer with services that they just reuse. They don’t have to rebuild again and again and again to create each new experience.”
Henkel, the German multinational chemical and consumer goods company, shared the benefits they are getting from using HCL Volt MX, which is providing the no code and low code technology in the HCL Total Experience platform.
Adam Škrabák, Digital Transformation Manager, Henkel described their connected worker program, which is a platform for a variety of applications used on their shop floor for paperless operations and data collection. He describes why they went with Volt MX:
“We needed a flexible solution that would allow us a high level of customization and tailor-made solutions for us. These are all the things that Volt MX has delivered.”
“The biggest asset is the creation of an interconnected ecosystem that streamlines the communication in the operations and increases the efficiency. As we learned throughout the years, the best practice is to put our people first.”
Dr. Zoltán Rusák, IT Consultant and Project Manager with Henkel, described what they were looking for in a Total Experience solution:
“When we were selecting a low code platform for our application development it was important for us to have a platform which enables us to deploy from the same code to different operating systems like iOS, Android and Windows. It was also important for us to embed this platform easily into our IT landscape and also to respond to new initiatives in a very quick way with local development.”
“Our future plans with the connected worker platform is to create more connections to our existing services and existing data sources. We are also receiving more demands from other business units, so we will also extend the scope of the connected worker mobile applications. By using the Volt MX local platform we were able to develop more applications at the same time. This enabled us to achieve our business goals faster and more efficiently.”
Daniele Vistalli, CEO of HCL Business Partner Factor-Y, shared his perspective on where this market is going:
“In the last couple of years we have seen customers asking for a more integrated experience across mobile application, local applications, and digital experiences. This is where Total Experiences comes in and where we are building the future of how we work with customers, so that building customer experience and the new kind of total experiences is like having a cup of coffee: extremely simple.”
